Gear Box Oil
Gear Box Oil
Reduction gears are typically used on smaller bunker vessels, feeder containers, offshore supply vessels, etc.

Reduction gearboxes consist of complex gears and bearings with small tolerances that are subjected to strong forces, when converting the engine’s thrust to slower revolutions of the propeller. If the reduction gearbox is not working, then the vessel is not moving, so it is critical to keep a high reliability of reduction gearboxes
Challenge
If oil in the lubrication systems of gears and bearings in the reduction gearbox is not kept free from particles, oxidation residues and water, they may fail due to particles in oil from abrasive and fatigue wear, and eventually this can lead to gearbox or bearings breakdown. Repairing or servicing a reduction gearbox is very costly.

Benefits, installing CJC® Oil Filters
-
Protect your investment
-
Reduce risk of breakdowns and off-hire
-
Optimise efficiency of the vessel
-
Increase lifetime of gearbox oil
-
Reduced maintenance costs

When you install a CJC® Oil Filter solution on your reduction gearbox, you save costs relating to service of equipment and replacement of oil in the gearbox.
Technically, CJC® is known for keeping oil clean and without oxidation residues, which is documented over many years and in several reduction gear installations. CJC® Oil Filter solutions are installed with many shipowners worldwide.
When you choose CJC® Oil Filters, you ensure a long lifetime of the reduction gearbox, reduce maintenance and you avoid unplanned off-hire and yard stays. You can even monitor the condition of your system using the Oil Contamination Monitor.
